Yuxi Lu, AP art student in Ms. Berotti class, was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Scholastic Regional Art Competition. There were 1,300 applications for the exhibition, from across the state of Tennessee, with 3 placements in each category grade level.

Home for Thanksgiving
At one of our recent faculty meetings, Dr. Chauncy asked the faculty to write a brief essay outlining "what student you would want to take home for Thanksgiving and why"?
“We Are Hillwood” permeates each essay. There are so many fantastic kids at our school and the faculty's collective words describe what makes each of them wonderful and unique. Here is one of those essays.

| Hillwood's own, Amanda Hyatt, Awarded Scholarship |
Amanda Hyatt was awarded a very prestigious competitive scholarship from the English-Speaking Union to participate in educator training at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, one of the oldest and most respected Shakespeare organizations in the U.S. Not only will the ESU pay her tuition, they are covering her travel expenses along with generous per diem funds. This is a very impressive honor as she was chosen over a number of applicants based on her experience, qualifications, and essay.
She truly will be a distinguished Shakespeare educator after this experience! We have a lot to be proud of here at Hillwood!
