Students of the Hospitality and Tourism Learning Center at Hillwood High School are cognizant of the many unique career opportunities available for anyone living in Nashville. Community leaders Mrs. Andrea Arnold, Senior Vice President of the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau; Mr. Thom Druffel, General Manager of Holiday Inn Select Vanderbilt and Chairman of MNPS Hospitality and Tourism Partnership Council, and Mr. Charles Starks, Executive Director of Nashville Convention Center visited Hillwood and discussed numerous hospitality and tourism career opportunities available in our city. At the assembly students listened to the speakers, viewed PowerPoint presentations, and asked questions about career pathways, internships, scholarships, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Not only did the students leave the assembly knowing that hospitality and tourism is the second largest industry in Nashville, but they also left with an awareness of the many job opportunities available for those who prepare themselves for this career path.
